For this event I made a sound installation that touches upon melancholy as a Freudian concept. The soundscape weaves together recordings of texts and sounds that invite the listener to (re)consider existing ideas about personal and public life where the realm of 'mind' continues to play a very exclusive role, despite very commonly shared experiences.

The sound piece itself consists of texts that I obtained from various sources: books, online information and my own written texts. I also recorded sounds in my near to immediate environment, and used samples of recordings found online. Using this material I created a sound experience that invites the listener, for whom I created a semi closed-off space, to have an almost private, personal experience.
